General weathering caused the protective clear anodized finish to wear off the aluminum composite spandrel panels. This weathering allowed the exposed aluminum to oxidize and produce a patchy, cloudy white appearance over the entire building.

Recognizing the need to keep the building in perfect condition to maintain the confidence of their tenants, the owners needed to correct the condition of the exterior without disrupting day-to-day activity in the building.

After completing a thorough analysis of the alternatives available, Induspray was selected by the building's owner to refinish the panels using a fluoropolymer system.

Careful monitoring of film thickness, surface temperature and complete weatherproof masking of adjoining surfaces was critical to the success of this project. The use of this system provided the owner with the results needed, at approximately one third of the cost of replacing the panels.
